In recent years, amidst the pandemic we observed the disconnect between scientists and the general public. The scientific community had a responsibility to properly inform the public on the various regulations and scientific advancements employed to combat the pandemic.
However, this resulted in some speculations among the general population, who experienced disconnect from the “science jargon”. These observations helped us realize the immense value of clear communication skills.
Gaps in scientific understanding can leave people fragmented and detached from valuable information. In turn that may lead to misconceptions in the media.
We started Stepping Stone to STEM with the goal of offering readers a glimpse into the world of science. The main goal of these blog posts is to explain scientific ideas portrayed in the media in a more accessible way!
The notion that science should be celebrated by all rather than secluded to the scientific community is at the core of this site’s mission.
